Lacrosse is certainly not as developed in Germany and Hungary as it is in the UK, US and Canada but they are working extremely hard at it and OTEVS is pleased to be helping this development on the international front.
Germany played host to the U19s and U17s World Championships in 2011 and this was seen as a great success with teams coming from US, Australia, England and Wales.
Most major cities have at least a male and female senior team and these play in their respective leagues based on a geographical basis. The development of the junior side of lacrosse is also going very strong and OTEVS is continually trying to persuade UK schools to come across to Germany to play against the clubs here. Whilst the standard from the UK is higher, the German sides relish the chance to play against English, Scottish and Welsh teams as it gives them great experience and a chance to learn tactics.
In Hungary, the lacrosse is less well-developed but this is an area where we will offer our help, with the same aim of persuading foreign teams to tour there and give both sides a great experience.
